Well it looks like we are going to be in for another beauty this year.

The Weather Bureau has placed us on Cyclone Watch with a Tropical Low slowly intensifying in the Arafura Sea north of Darwin.
They expect a cyclone to form on Friday night/Sat morning and we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Because of the unpredictability of cyclones, it may hit and it may take off in another direction.

Traditionally, Christmas Day in Darwin is an outdoors event with BBQ's, prawns and plenty of cold beer, and the kids running around and swimming.
It'll be a fun/interesting day either way.

I feel your pain ....   I can't even drink heavies now, they knock me for six, Cascade light for me {good tasting light beer}, i can drink them for hours and not get pissed....

Hope the Evil weather misses you people, I don't know we are going to have  a White Christmas here in the land of snow and ice, it's been raining and the ground is saturated, makes me twitch about the on coming winter (it's one thing to have it forty below and have snow cover it's another thing with out the snow cover) any how have a happy Xmas for you and yours and a wild and Happy Hogmanay! It causes the ground  to stay frozen late into the spring,  I remember .

I have done a few  6's of the Sierra Nevada  seasonals, and the latitude 48 ipa's are getting scarce. Spending tooo much on premiums like those and hop czars, might have to put a tip jar in the frige.

The weather mob are predicting that it will develop into a cyclone on Xmas morning.
I think of cyclones as like riding a motorbike at 100mph with your feet on the handlebars - you just never know where it will go. 

This one will be called Cyclone Grant when it develops.
Their names are alternated from male to female as they develop and historically, it has been the cyclones with a female name that have generally been the most destructive in this region - That's a true story.
Tracy, Gretel, Thelma, Monica, Ingrid, Helen just to name a few.

This is a Satellite picture of Cyclone Monica in 2006 and also the Track Map.
Monica was a nasty one and we were lucky that it hit landfall before it got too close.
