This bike has sat for 5-6 years or so, and according to the PO, ran fine with some carb isssues before being parked.
I acquired it last December, but since have bought a house, had my first born, etc....limiting my time available for this build. I finally heard the bike run for the first time last week, and am in the process of doing some minimal tuning to try to make it run "right", but in the mean time am addressing several other issues that need to be fixed/repaired.
I figured replacing the clutch would be in order at some point regardless....as I understand it, they're not exactly the strong point of the cb500's anyway. I found the clutch rod snapped once I opened up the sprocket cover, and have yet to replace it, so only the one rod has snapped as far as I'm aware. Once I finish putting the front end back together, I'll look into tearing into the clutch. Thanks again.
