Commuting pants?
« on: December 22, 2011, 10:54:22 AM »
I recently went from jeans to Duluth Firehose work pants and for my commuting distance - up to 10 miles - they are working fine.  My warm winter riding pants dont have the boot zippers and I wear them only on pleasure/weekend rides.

Share your experience, what do you wear when you ride to work?

Yeah, Roadcrafter would be great, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Nothing special in the way of pants, except when cold (below ~ 42), then a pair of leather chaps.  Normal office-worker slacks on my work commute.

While it's freezing on your side of the pond, it's stinking hot here, so I'm wearing kevlar reinforced jeans at the moment.

They're heavier than normal jeans but breathe better than leather pants, and aren't as heavy. My jeans came with removable knee and hip pads, but I took them out for a bit of extra room and comfort. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

How about these?  They would be great for the cafe and bobber guys that don't want to run blinkers. Just plug these babies in and hit the road.
