CB500 Tank back from painter...
« on: January 22, 2012, 12:41:58 PM »
Just picked up the tank, side shields and headlight bucket from Uncle Billy's shop.  Left over paint from another project...I can't wait to get the bike back together and these parts on.  Let me know what you think!

Nice job Uncle Billy !      Alwasy love racing stripes.  Those fit that tank beautifully.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

What color is this?  Good question, I wish I had an answer.  The blue is a mix of left-over paint from other projects...so, I'll say it's custom...

This is a low budget project and my first bike, I don't have the bike all apart and am just doing a good cleaning on the engine and some touch up on the frame...also I'm going to lose the fairing, add front signals, repair clutch problem, add pods, gaitors and etc...maybe a new seat cover...but am considering a cafe seat and a low profile fender mounted tail light...but can't find the "right" one...

Here is a "before pic" of my rat bike...none of the paint matched and the tank was horrible, there must have been 4-layers of paint on it.  Hope to have some more pics in a couple of weeks.  The bike is at my buddies house/barn and getting over there to work on it is kind of a hassle...conflicting schedules and etc...

Thanks - Fred
