69 sandcast
« on: September 06, 2014, 06:06:24 PM »
Hi! I'm new here, obviously, and still own my first bike, which is a 69 sand cast, serial # 827 and decided I'd sell it, but ebay people picked it apart so bad that I decided to just keep it. It's about 90% original, and doesn't have a wrinkle tank anymore as I did a restoration on it years ago, and didn't know about wrinkle tanks, and replaced it with a NOS.  It runs great and besides the wrinkle tank thing, it's all there. If anybody has one of these tanks, or knows where I can get one, give me a shout. I don't think its all that important, but I know the anal restoration crowd demands 100%.

Are you trying to restore it to 100% to then sell it? There's a Sandcast registry you might also check out.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
