What was the timeline for the 3 position shocks. The K1 I’m currently working on came with 3 position shocks with the decals faint.

Those are the “black tops” and I believe original equipment for 1969-1971 cb750. Your originals have the three step preload adjusters. Most of the repro ones available (like the ones I got) have five steps on the preload collar. A minor detail, but annoying.

I have the 5 step repros on my K0, it’s a rider though. Still better than 50 year old shocks.

In the black top photo the gentle and wide slope of the adjuster is very similar to the Yamiya K0 shocks. 5 setting shocks would have a much shorter slope to fit the 5 steps in.

I think you are right. Next time I place an order, I’ll get a set.

I went by Yamiya today, seats are sold out. I wonder if the talk of tariffs is freaking guys out creating a run on parts?

Last night my wife and I attended the CVMG Ganaraska Section Annual Dinner. It used to be held in December, but a few years ago someone suggested that was just too busy a time. The change worked, almost 40 members in attendance, a record for our small group!

At the end of the evening our Prez. handed out a few annual awards. I was delighted to win the “Phoenix Award”, given out occasionally to the member that resurrects a truly “rough old bike”. A special one for the S/C. This beautiful trophy is the creation of one of our members, using a model steam engine that his Dad fabricated in the ‘50’s. The storage case is almost as nice as the Trophy. Very Cool!

Thanks. It’s a really lovely bit of recognition, almost as good as “Bike of the Year”!

Ha!   Well that trophy is much better than the one you received for BOTY!

Seems that you have won the Phoenix award before but no room for your name for the last win?

Steve….. I’m working on that Trophy too! There is a hatch in the bottom of the base and I found 1/2 dozen more matching plates. I guess the next one will go on one of the blank sides…… The problem will be that “1969 HONDA cb750 Sandcast” just won’t fit. “‘69 Honda cb750” might fit.
