Air box help...
« on: March 01, 2012, 09:28:53 PM »
Recently bought a set of pod filters for my 75cb750f. I noticed a thick hose coming from the back of the airbox going to some sort of pump? it is tucked away back by the oil tank. Wondering what this hose is for and what it leads to. Also I have heard some commotion about pod filters making the cb's run bad. Any suggestions on tuning after putting the pod filters on? Thanks in advance for the tips.

Pods don't necessarily make them run bad they just do require some significant tuning.  Plenty of people on here run them fine but that's after some jet changes and carb tuning, air mixture fiddling

It's not a pump but part of the crankcase breathing system that was put on as pollution control came into being.  Don't know how the Pod People deal with it.   Think about it as you will gain no performance advantage, it's all about the looks.  Some never get it to run right and go back to the airbox.  Some get it to run fine.  Others fool themselves into thinking it runs fine even though they have issues in rain, crosswinds,  or specific RPM ranges.  Just keep your airbox around just in case. ;D
You can find plenty of info here for where to start but it will be trial and error on your part.  There is no one size fits all solution.
