74 CB750... Very slow progress
« on: June 19, 2011, 01:33:56 AM »
I'm new to this forum and thought I'd get involved and show you where I am at with my 74 CB750. Not exactly sure what sort it is as it's a bit of a bitza.

As of this moment, it's not running. 3 weeks ago it ran like a dream but now, it won't even turn over.

I've changed the fuel, am thinking it might be the battery. It's sitting at around 12.4 but am hoping a new battery will give it a bit more oomph to turn it over.

Once it's running, I am going to change the instrument cluster to something a little bit smaller but anyway, this is it at the moment, well, when it was running.

I'm sure you'll be hearing a lot more from me

Are you getting any clicking or anything when trying to start.

It should turn over with 12.4 volts.

No clicking sound. Just goes through the motions but just won't start at all. I've  checked all the plugs and they're all firing (they are a little faint though when tested against the block) and I am just not sure where to go from now.
