AMA in Wisconsin
« on: June 04, 2005, 06:49:55 PM »
Today is an awsome 75-80 degree day in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.  Our small country Village is home to Road America a 4 mile closed circuit lemans race course.  This is the 3 day weekend for the AMA motrorcycle  races.  There are 1000's of motorcycles here in every shape year and style.  After the days races spectators typically line the streets of the village to show off their bikes.  At 7:00 this evening I took a slow ride through the village streets on my not perfect but quite respectible bumble bee yellow '75 CB 750 SS.  The crowd is mostly younger but this year there seems to be an increasing number of vintage riders on vintage motorcycles.  It was a great feeling that amongst all the high tech rockets my 30 year old Honda can still turn a few heads.  I did notice that the older the bike the older the rider. It is also great to see an event that is not dominated by HD's (They are built less than 50 miles away!}  Just thought I would pass on comments from tonights ride evening ride in the country.
