Reintroducing MoMo the Magnigicent
« on: July 25, 2023, 12:22:22 AM »
In the far-right corner wearing the red-faced, embarrassed look is MoMo the Magnificent(formerly known as photolar, nee Larry) is back and scrambling (actually too old for that but it sounds good- with apologies to Randall Cunningham of course).

After a three-year hiatus from CB world, I have another CB in the stable-a crummy little 200.  I was CB'ed out after resurrecting at least 40 or more bikes since my wife died 17 years ago.  I bought a 2008 Moto Guzzi 750 Breva for 2300$ 3 years ago then came to the realization that I can have a better bike without putting hours and hours as well as mucho donero into an old CB for way less money.  Looking for a Ducati Monster to supplement the Guzzi.  The 200 is a friend's bike, I really don't own a sohc anymore and most likely won't.  Heresy for sure.

May not contribute as much as before but I'll be on forum occasionally.  Cheers.

PS.  I have an abandoned 750 in my shed that needs to go.  IIRC it is a 78 with low compression on number 2.

Welcome back Larry. It's good to see you're still kicking around, you have been missed.

That was one awesome bike from my past repertoire of CBs.  All is well Steve

The 200 T belongs to a friend.  Does not have spark so it is non operational.

Hi Larry! I was getting worried about you a while back when you disappeared, and feared you may have passed on like some other members, but David M. assured me you were still alive and kicking. ;D
Scott
BTW, do you have any 400 parts left laying around? Seems at one time you had an aftermarket exhaust header gathering dust...

You've used that name and already proven you can do the 'disappearing and reappearing' trick;now you may be required to pull a rabbit out of a hat  :D

Good evening, Scott.  I got rid of all my spare 400 parts when I sold the last unfinished 400 (not sure who it was but pretty sure it was a forum member).  The only sohc item I have is a 750 that a forum member abandoned here. I think it is either a 77 or 78 CB750.  It is available real cheap if anyone wants it.  Good to hear from members,  Larry

It never hurts to ask! :) I've had my eye on a Ducati or two in the last year, but have managed to resist the seduction each time. ;D The first motorcycle I ever helped work on was a Ducati 200(?) back in 1966 or so, and it left a lasting impression. ;D
