Anybody know which connector should be used ? w/ photo

Pretty close to getting my 1969 CB750K on the road again and when cleaning off the wiring and connections, I noticed that one of my conncetors is toast.

Does anyone know if the 6 pin connector from the rectifier to the harness has a locking type connector or a non-locking one?   

The one on my 75 is the locking type.  The one on the 69 appears to be non-locking, but I can't really tell as most of it has disintegrated.

**  Also - has anyone been able to source the white fiberglass ? insulation that is sleeved on the alternator harness ?
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

not sure about the connector but you can get all kinds of braided sleeving fro Wirecare.com. they have Techflex..

Or give Hondaman a shout. He includes those connectors with his fuse kit. He can let you know where to find them.

The early bikes did not have the locking connector.  I used a zip tie to insure that it wouldn't come apart on mine.

Don't know if you're aware, but if you can find the proper connector somewhere you can pull the leads out of the disintegrated one and sub the good one. The leads pull out of the back. Maybe other models use the block you're looking for.
Just a thought.

+1 on the Vintage connectors stuff.  Nice kits for trying to be period correct, and for custom work with a nice OEM look.

You can get a complete new 1975 wiring harness for about $75.00 from Parts-N-More.

That solves lots of problems.

I am using one on my 1978 CB750 K.

I am using one on my 1978 CB750 K.
Being a 69 and I think a Sandcast it would be best to try and keep everthing as original as possible and repair what little things that needed fixing if it were mine.

Hi greenjeans. In the honda manual page 207 under Supplement to CB750K1 -K4,
Fig20-54 shows a non- locking connector up to the K1's & the change to locking starts for the K2's Fig 20-55.

Keep it original.

Thanks fellas -

I ordered some stuff from vintage connections.  They look to be identical to the original (non-locking) and should be an easy fix.

I forgot all about those guys.  I ordered some new sleeving for the handlebar controls and the main section of the harness that leads into the bucket.

On a good note - When I removed the headlight bucket the wires had not been touched.  Believe it or not, this is the first motorcycle that I have ever
owned that didn't have some sort of confusion going on in there.

You can get a brand new OEM style alternator harness form YAMIYA.
$47.52 USD (3,675 YEN)

Then you can get a complete new wiring harness from Parts-N-More.
It is a 1975.

Just wire it all as a 1975.
