Do you just keep your tanks full all the time...is that it ?
No, I never bother with that as it would be much running to the gas station and for the reason 72500 mentions. I do a lot of late night riding around the city and at midnite-1am I am ready to go home, not to some gas station.
What I do in the off season I remove the tank, drain it and store it in the basement with a light coating of tranny fluid or 2 stroke oil sloshed around inside. At least here with our five month down time the sensibility of storing a tank full of gas for that length of time escapes me. Another thing to consider is the ethanol in the fuel. It's not always convenient to get non-enthanol fuel so I end up running one as much as the other and I always seem to get a small amount of water out of the tank in the fall. Now if you never drain the tank the water is always there. Even in places where you can ride year round it may be a good idea to remove and completely drain the tank once or twice a year. It doesn't take much time.
