I'm thinking of starting a new category, "Wreck of the week"!
Check out this poor abused/neglected CB360, but also check out the price! I mean $500 for maybe $50 worth of parts! NZ prices are just stupid when a barn find like this can expect such a high price.

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I do not have photos but I just came from an auction of a 1966 Chevelle SS396 convertible, totally junk with a bent frame, motor was not original and incomplete, fenders not original, interior beat, top beat, no rims, etc.  11,500 was the final price.  Would that qualify for the most expensive wreck of the year?  ::) ...Larry

That early morning dew rolling in from off the sea will do it every time.
I used to live on an island off of Cape Cod and had a MC repair business there for 10 years.I had to spend lot's of time calling salvage yards around the USA to find parts that were no longer serviceable.

Yep, my Suzuki GS1000 with Yoshimura pipe came from Frankston (not nearly as romantic as Cape Cod, more like 1970's Harlem by the sea...........) and had been sitting outside under a tarp for 5 years after a messy divorce where the guy lost his pants, and his bike.

Anyway, I bought it "sight unseen" through a friend of the wife for a few hundred bucks and while the engine was surprisingly good, the bike was crumbling around it. I only needed the engine, which was good because everything else was stuffed. I put fresh gas and a fresh battery in it and it fired straight up, blowing holes in the Yoshi header pipe! Fark! Cheers, Terry. ;D

   That was the GS1000 you told me about that needed the frame straightened ? I hate when they put them "under a tarp" which traps all the moisture around the bike..glad to hear it fired right up :) Good ole Suzuki !

Ha ha, nah, not that one mate, that one was a GS1000S that had rear-ended a car (not a real smart move) and there was 2 distinct dents at the rear of the tank that the owner swore was made by his testicles as he was launched forward when his bike hit the back of the car. It still makes my eyes water when I think about it! ;D

When I was a service manager back in the day(whenever that was ::)) I saw quite a few tanks with those telltale dents-makes you cringe to think of the pain...Larry

Yamaha turned out a particularly nasty road/trail cross in the early 70's, I can't recall the prefix but it was a 125 and we called them "nut crunchers" cos at the end of the seat the tank went straight up for about 5inches so if you stopped suddenly you slid your family jewels right into the bastard thing! ;D
