are these pipes going to require rejetting?

 I bought a tank, an exhaust, and an extra set of carbs this morning from a guy I found on craigslist. The carbs need cleaned/rebuilt, but they were a damn good deal. The tanks situation is the same as the carbs but someone painted it black so Id like to remove the emblems and give it that shiny toaster look(im not sure how to take the emblems off/on).
As for the exhaust, I dont know what kind it is. My current pipes, that came with my bike, are these mustang lookin headers that are extremely loud and are giving my carbs problems. Does anybody recognize these pipes? Does anyone have any insight on whether they will be any better than the current pipes?? ???

i dont think there's any easy answer... my guess is that your new exaust is a lower flow and will richen up your system... your gonna have to hook it up and check your plugs

go back to stock set up on your carbs and go from there.... that hole in the petcock is your reserve

I think those Exhaust pipes are Mac 4 into 2 and the carbs...I believe are for a CB550F. The emblems will come off if you just gently pry them off from the back w/ a small thin screwdriver a little at a time ;).

if you've any thoughts about getting rid of your old pipes, they'd be the bees knees on my 500 chopper...

550F carbs would be #069A. If those pipes are separate pieces slipped onto stock head pipes, they may be old Jardine items.

Thanks for the advice, I was hoping the that was the case with the petcock.

The carbs are currently in the shop along with the bike but ive been keeping contact with the mechanic since ive been working out of town. My current carbs are stock as far as jets and air filter system so Im hoping with these new pipes I can just plug'n'play.

geminimotors - They would be perfect for a bike such as yours. I do like the loud aggressive noise they give off but Im just not having any luck with the carbs with them on the bike. I'll let you know what happens.

      What seat is that on your bike; a CB400F seat ?

 Im not sure what type of seat it is, I assumed it was the original cb550k. It came with the bike and I painted the honda stencil on it. The cafe seats cost too much and im picky as to the specs, why ruin a good seat in an attempt to cut it into a cafe masterpiece. I thought the 74-76 550K seat was the only one thatd fit my years tank and frame.

It does look like 74-76 550K pan, and especially the upholstery.
