How about a self generating ( no battery required )  Digital CDI setup ?   ;)

                http://www.hpi.be/kits.htm

Look at the 13th setup down on the right.

Thats something to think about
I think cycle-X has one also but not sure if its as complete as that one

The MSD system that I noted is a complete set up

box
2 sets of coils with wires
ignition
rotor
basically everything you need ignition wise
I am just waiting on this guy to Pm me back to answer a few questions

thanks for all of your help Jon

Jim, if this was not a street ridden bike i would highly recommend one of these as shown on my current build in post#66, picture #6. Oh crap, too many 6's-lol. Its a Schnitz Pro Series II and is infinitely adjustable.

Very nice undercut work. Did R&D do this one Jim???

Need to get the tranny in my F model done. Jumping out of gear really bad now so i have effectively parked it back in the corner to grow spider webs until i fix the problem. I hate to let it sit because of a simple transmission repair but not many people want to screw with the Honda's.

What i'd like to know is why does a undercut cb750 trans cost more than say a KZ1000 or a Suzuki  GS1000 ?    :o   ???

Cuz KZ's are still dragraced more and more guys have it done (which makes it cheaper).  That's my guess anyway.

Wow, i get my local guy to do my KZ trannies for $140. Maybe i should tip him better next time. But then i'm sure an APE transmission definitely lasts longer and goes through a magniflux process to identify cracked gears.

Here are some better pictures of what Mike Rieck assembled for me.

Heavy duty primery chains, aftermarket cam chain guide, heavy duty case studs, and new OEM rockers with new adjusters.

OEM seals, OEM primery idler roller, and OEM can chain guide

gaskets, MLS Head gasket, base gaskets valve cover gasket,

and know the really good stuff
over size intakes, stock exhaust

lots of titanium, heavy springs, stock keepers, bronze guide,

thanks mike for not filling the intakes with clam chowder after the Pats lost the super bowel
(Not that you needed to here that)

No chowder Jim....I've moved on. ;) ;D I would like to point out that I did not do the initial porting..,...Jim sent me a ported head years ago....I just massaged it a bit more and bored the intake seat to 90% of the OS valve OD, VJ etc. Even with just 8lbs that CB will move out (and not blow up).
Just waiting for the turbo cam from Megacycle....that should be here in a little bit. I have to put together some orings etc and Jim will have everything for the build. I have complete faith in Brian as a dyno tuner so thiongs should turn out very well. Can't wait to see a dyno sheet (though it will make me a bit jealous). ;)

I was hoping that you would jump in and give the details of what you did on the head
I wasn't sure if the head had been ported or if it could not be ported (Because of someone like me getting my hands on a drimmel tool)
but Mike sure saved the day was really glad when he said the head was in good shape

How much longer on the cylinder studs mike?

Get with your wife and find out how much more money I need to send her for her vacation in Europe :):):)

Thanks again mike for everything

And sense everything in this build is either getting replaced or rebuilt
I am not leaving out the trans bearings

Sense you cant just replace the bearing holder anymore
but you can buy replacement bearings

This is what I did

old bearing on the right but how did I get the old bearing out?

first you have to find out where the outer race is in relation to the holder
measure and just scribe a line to get you in the ball park.
center drill the holes and (If you have a mill) use a end mill to get you to the outer race of the bearing

then  carefully knock out the old bearing, clean the housing good and
then just go over to your laser welder that everyone needs and fill in the holes that you made in the housing
clean again and replace with a new bearing and there you go

or you guys can send it to me and I would be happy to do this for you
just give me a call

Jim
