another carb question...
« on: January 28, 2012, 05:29:29 PM »
Okay I finally got the pressed in slow jets out of the 78 550k and the float pins out by heating the post with a torch. Now I removed the adjuster screw and find a spring a washer and a o ring,my question is the o ring is split so do I need to find another one or can I still use the split one.I wasn't sure if it was there to seal or just to be a seat also I probably need to remove these when I blow compressed air thru the openings right? Thanks

replace it.  orings are sealing devices.

Do I need to get a o ring that is from a carb rebuild pkg or can I use any fuel resistant one of the same size?

anything same size is ok so long as its impervious to fuel.
