Just bought 75' Cb400f. Totally in love with it from the start. The guy rolls it out from the garage, I walk over to it and put my hand on the engine just to check for heat. I have had that happen to me before, where they have already warmed the bike. So after I was happy he kicks it twice and it starts right away. Smiles all around. I love the sound of the Kerker exhaust. It was dark in my small apartment garage when I got it home but I'll try to post some pics.  ;D

Dumb question but Is there anyway to post many picture at once.. It keep saying file too large.. I cropped everyone down until they were all <1mb..

Right-side, You can see more grime, rusty shocks but drum's not too terrible...

I think this is one of my favorite parts... Although for sure going off to the local coating shop to get cleaned and refinished..

From this angle you can see a weepy gasket, dirt and grime on case and carbs, some rust and of course... more spray paint..

Bad picture I know but from the looks of it (aside from the spray paint around headers), No exhaust leaks.. Have to look at the bright side.

Gonna start tearing it down tonight. Ill take more pictures and post them. I work Mon-Sat from 5am-730pm.. So I'll try to squeeze every bit of time I can into this, But I will only post or update when I get home in the evenings. I have a couple questions off the start. Beside a thorough outer cleaning of engine and carbs, should I take the them apart with them running so well together pre-teardown? I will be watching your replies via Iphone from work. Thanks for you guys help in advance.

That's better, There is a ton of spray paint on the forks.. but they're not in that bad of shape... how do I remove it without damaging the chrome underneath ?

Good find Jason, love the bike.  If the bike is running okay, I would just run some Seafoam through the carbs and see how it runs after your motor work.  Then, if you have problems, you can pull them and do what you gotta do.  Good luck.

Sorry didn't post anything yesterday guys. I am planning on asking my lady to marry me in 2 days. With that and work, 12hrs a day, I am pooped. But I am back on it on Monday. So far I have disassembled it even further. Cleaned the carbs, tooth brushed and simple green'd everything I could, Tried my hand at polishing the old parts... Now the waiting game for all my parts to get in and my powder coated beauties to come back.. So all in all I am pretty excited right now.. Almost like Christmas... Wish me luck and I'll post more on Monday.. Here's a little picture of my work table with the carbs.. Yes it is a old Foosball table..

NIce build. Subscribed.

In regard to the forks.. best bet is to strip them with a brass wire wheel.. Then polish in 3 stages...

The wires behind the headlight for all sohcs usually look like a mess. Dont throw away the wire harness.
