We definitely have a place for you to stay in Nashville if that's yr plan. Maybe get here Friday 5/11, stay the night, and we'll head out with you on Saturday 5/12 up into KY a couple hundred miles or so. OR, if you're thinking earlier, we'll be back in town late Sunday afternoon (5/6). Stay the night, leave Monday morning? OR you could come any time after that. Your call.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

A quick report from my tired old ass........

A very successful handoff at Barber today.  Big thanks to jtb for being a great host and the Barber folks were way cool.  Lefty was impressed. Pics up tomorrow. Bluezboy even had his "good" camera gear( he almost made it back with the tripod intact....not quite though).

next stop for Zilla is Lookout Mountain TN.
on 5/5

Cheers

TN folks, I will be in Nashville on Sunday May 6 and will pick up GZ for my part of the relay.  I will leave early Monday morning and head up to KY then over to IL and MO and then down into AR.

I will pass off GZ to OK group in Tulsa area on or about May 12 so they can do the run to KS.

Bluto - are you guys interested in making the ride Saturday afternoon with the Nashville group along the Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon, or are you guys heading back after the meet and exchange?

Hell yeah Vern!! Can't wait to see you and Pandora in all of her points-set glory!! :)

So, here are two proposed Saturday afternoon routes.. one includes some of Northern GA and the other just gets us over the Skyway to Robbinsville where we're staying at the Two Wheeled Inn Sat nite. If any of you GA guys wanna tag along we can do the GA thing and y'all can take off whenever you need to.

#1 - straight to the Skyway

#2 - via Northern GA to Skyway

It's tempting..........but, I think this one is gonna be "turn and burn".  Thanks for the offer though.....next time I'm in.

Mortising ( if you're manly, you'll know what that means) hinges on a vinyl door is a pain in the ass. Good thing my Boss is here to make sure I do it right! Next, we're headed back to my school bus for the afternoon routes. I hope he doesn't get hungry when he sees them!

Bill here..............

A sad end to a perfect day.  After the great ride me Vern and adam had up to Chattanooga, The end of the day went like this:

Adam and I split up at Hwy 20 and I-575.  I got off on Hwy 20 and came up on some slow traffic, I slowed to around 10mph when.....outa nowhere.....I got rear ended by a pickup truck.  The bumper on the truck Hit directly on my back tire and litteralt knocked my bike out from under me.  I had just enough time to tuck and roll off to the left and then I had to lay there and watch my bike continue on riderless.  My bike cruised another 60 yards and...as it started to slow and vear to the left it smacked a car that had stopped and pretty much slammed over on it's right side.  At this point the #$%%%$## that hit me took off.  No worries though, the fine men of the Canton Police force had him in cuffs within 10 minuets.  Don't know if he was drunk...drugggin...no insurance.  A this point I just have to wait on the police report.  I am fine (sort of) I got a fractured Fibula and a nice sprained ankle.  I was big time lucky and BIG TIME glad I had my jacket on.  I convinced that I would be mess had it not been for elbow and shoulder armour.  Now on to the sad part...........

My bike has all teh cosmetic damage you would expect......along with.....something broke inside teh motor  :(   The kick starter will go down...but it's crazy stiff.  Allmost like the motor is seizing up.  Thoughts??  Ideas??

She will no doubt end up at Larry's....but, I gotta deal with the whole insurance nightmare first.  Good news....I'll live.  Bad news.....I'm not sure about my original owner 1976 Vintage baby.

Major thank you to Adam and Laura and the girls.  He was there with his traile about 2 mins after I called him.  My wife Tammy came and picked me and the bke up in my truck and then we spent the rest of the night in the ER.

Zilla made it and teh show goes on.........

I'll keep y'all posted........WEAR YOUR DAMN RIDING GEAR...........ALLWAYS!!

Glad to hear you are basically OK.  The only consolation is that it could have been a hell of a lot worse.  Good luck with the bike.
