Getting Wired

Howdy,

I'm getting close to just needing my bike wired up to make it live.

I was recommended a local auto electrician, and after speaking to him he said I'm looking at a rough cost of around $400-$500 for the whole lot.

I've never had to deal with this kind of thing, so what do you guys reckon on that price?

Its not that hard a job Liam, its the time thats the killer.....And copper prices have gone up considerably in recent times....

Are you building a custom harness, if not you may be able to buy one new for less.?

If you do build your own harnes you can minimalize it and won't be as hard too.

Hi,

Wellllll.... once I put the carbs back together, all I've got to worry about is the rear wheel spacing, which I'm not sure whats going on there.... and the wiring.

I re wired my 1971 Kawasaki G4tr, just one wire at a time, took me a while but I got there, so I reckon I'll have a stab at doing it on the cb550.

Where abouts would I go to buy the correct coloured wires?

Can't you buy a new wiring harness mate? You can buy new harnesses for 750's for around 150 bucks, I've never looked for 550 harnesses, but I presume that they're available? Cheers, Terry. ;D
