5 dollar cam chain tensioner
« on: February 23, 2012, 09:23:42 PM »
 I'm not exactly sure where to post this. I have been looking for a 77 cam, and cam housing set on eBay. I keep finding this listing and it makes me crack up everytime. I thought it might get a chuckle. Sometimes stuff just belongs in the trash. Quote from listing "Motor Timing chain Cam is in OK shape there are scratches, The wheels are hard, beat up as seen in the photos."   Orig listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Honda-CB-750-CB750-super-sport-Motor-Timing-chain-Cam-/170751377394?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27c1933ff2&vxp=mtr

Oh I've seen worse crap than that.  This is one of my favorites that's been listed for months.

I mean really. ::)

If ebay allowed the sale of body parts I have no doubt you'd make the sale.... :P

HAHAHA  That is a good one.  It reminds me that in teaching MC riding to new riders the students sometimes get into some "interesting" situations on the parking lot, and as a result levers often get bent-up like that.  In fact, often the curl will be even more extreme.  Of course if you try to straighten the curl it will snap so easily, so we replace the lever with a new one from our always-on-hand set of spare supplies.  I've saved a bunch of those discarded and badly curled levers to make coat hooks out of them.  In fact, I have about six of them mounted under my bar and they look really cool there.

So the ad is correct...Is bent, will work great - as a coat hook.  But I prefer one with a better bend.

Yeah, technically true, he doesn't say what it will work great for!  ::)
