Oil inside Alternator cover
« on: May 30, 2006, 05:44:25 AM »
Pulled off the Alternator (Dyno) cover and found a few drops of oil on my 1976 750F. I assume that there should never be any oil in there..The gasket looked fine, I wonder where that sneaky oil is coming from?

For the 750, it's normal to have oil in the alternator housing, hence the gasket and sealing for the wiring. There is no oil seal on the alternator end of the crankshaft.
