Actually, pound for pound aluminium is stronger than steel - that is, if the same MASS of steel and aluminium were used, aluminium would have more strength.  Of course, aluminium is lighter than steel for the same VOLUME of material used

I believe aluminium is the chosen material because of its inherit properties, stiffness and lightness, not because its repairablility IF damaged

There are Heat treaters about 4 hrs drive from here. Had a local manufacturer of frames ran some out of aluminum, and they were all heat-treated. So nmo, I did not try to get a repair re-treated, so I suppose there is a chance it may be hard to find someone to do it.

An aluminum frame of same dimension as a steel one would weigh a third of the steel one.. so you can add a lot of extra meat, and still weigh a third less, plus have good strength..

The main problem I see with it is welding after the fact..not re-treated = LESS STRENGTH..
and there are a few on here that are very concerned  about making a bike handle that have modded dwingarms without re-treating

I thought that the issue with repairs do Al was that the repair was often stronger then the surrounding material leading to street failures.

Yeah I think I stated that badly.  I meant that with tubing of the same diameter and wall thickness the steel will be stronger.

Is it just my eyes or does that thing have less rake than my Buell Lightning? At speed that thing has to have death wobble like you've never seen before.

It is built by a well known shop in the UK and raced successfully, its your eye's.... ;D

Its not just the rake that matters, its a combination of rake, trail and triple clamp offset

Agreed. I think many of these modern sport bikes have a steeper rake around 24 degrees or so but use more offset to get the trail to a manageable number.  But even then it often does not get above 4 inches or 100mm.  Probably why the steering damper is important on these bikes.
