'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

God I want one. Saving for next project, but i think that one would be on the small side for my 750. But then again I don't know crap about sizing a turbo.

That plate looks like the mounting plate for an ARD mag, but i never saw one on a 550

Boom, that's the answer I've been looking for.  I've seen their catalog, and they did indeed make one for the 500/550's.  Now I'll just need to find one...I'm going to mount a points set up and coils to get it running before that will happen.

I don't think finding the right turbo would be difficult with the help available on this forum.  The tough part is finding the exhaust/intake manifold parts, or having them fabricated ($$$).  The intake on this bike is the ATP piece, but I've got no idea on the maker of the exhaust...it's totally different from the ATP part.  The parts are out there, and if you're patient you'll find them...just took me two years ;)

How did i miss this one. What a score Greggo! I can not tell you how jealous I am. I want to build a turbo bike so bad. I just dont know enough to start one from scratch. That bike is going to be killer.

That is the most expensive ihi turbo I've ever seen. I'd stick with a good old vw or volvo turbo when I decide to get involved with a turbo project. Seriously? $1000.00+ dollars?

Thanks FFJ, I'm sure it will go down as one of my best motorcycle purchases ever...the parts attached to this thing are simply amazing.  From what I've gathered, building a turbo bike that's not destined for the track isn't overly complicated.  Those ATP kits sold way back when were a simple, bolt on affair that didn't even require a waste gate!  I think it's mostly a matter of plumbing, and tuning.

Big difference FFJ. I never imagined you could buy one so cheaply.

That's a beautiful project Greggo, I'm glad that you jumped on that bargain, Carpy doesn't give much away for cheap like that, so you really scored. I'm really looking forward to seeing a youtube vid of that little beast firing in anger not too long from now! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks Terry, I'm glad you brought her to our attention!  I really can't figure out what Ole Mr. Carpy was thinking!?  Maybe he expected a higher bid out of it, but that's the way the cookie crumbled, I guess.  Anyhow, I'm slowly gathering all the expensive ignition bits I'll need for her (just picked up a Dyna 2000 module, coils & wires from 736cc)  I'm hoping to get her firing in the next few months :)

Thanks Greg, the Dyna 2000 is a much better setup than an ARD magneto mate, so well done. Interestingly I thought Mick (Retro Rocket) had bought that ignition from Andy, I wonder what happened? Maybe he had 2 for sale? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Mick bought one a week or two back, I think?  He just posted this one yesterday in the for sale section.  I got 3-ohm coils, plug wires, and the (incomplete) Dyna 2000 for $150 shipped!  I'll have to buy the crank trigger part, probably from Dynoman, or Ebay...seems to go for about $125.  Not bad considering a new 2000 costs $400, plus the coils and wires.  They are used however.

Oh, OK guys, I'm with you now. Hey Ken Cheers, the owner of the K1 I'm working on, bought a new Dyna 2000, coils and wires from a bike shop in the US for $380 bucks, plus shipping? I'd buy one myself, if I had a bike to put it in? Cheers, Terry. ;D

dynoman has great deals on the dyna 2ks.  $450 with coils!  I got mine from them once when they had a sale too
I have a brand new 2K on the shelf, but also have a ARD and RC set up......not sure what to do yet..  maybe convert the RC to electronic?
