CB400F project, Lexington SC
« on: March 02, 2012, 04:56:31 PM »
I just picked up a CB400F from my brother which I intend to restore with the help of input from the members of this forum. While it looks pretty good in the pictures it has been sitting idle for several years. It won't start, hydraulics are gummed up and lots of surface rust. I've been restoring cars for years so I'm not intimidated by the project. I did the paint job several years ago that you see on the bike now. I have a BMW F650GS that I plan to sell to finance this project.

The first thing I'd like help on is some suggestions for suppliers of vintage Honda parts. I'm going to need a lot. I see lots of stuff on eBay but prefer to deal with a business if one exists.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Dave

Welcome, that is one sharp looking 400f. David Silver Spares in England is one of the largest, more reasonably priced suppliers. Also, there is a section on this forum for bikes and parts wanted-I got a needed carb body from a member. Lots of good advice and wisdom here...Larry

Good starting point and welcome to the site. David Silver is my favorite place to shop but this place works too.

If you are willing to part with that fairing let me know. I've been looking for one that fits my 400.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!
