I love James, but I feel the need to send him a respectful, yet flame-a-rific email over the following;
"What was the first motorcycle you bought with your own money? 1974 Honda CB750/four, the four-pipe K-series. Not really a good first bike. Terrible brakes and so on."

I would agree the 750 is not a good 'first bike' too.
High center of gravity, pretty heavy, the brakes are poop.
A 550 or 450 would make a better 'first bike'.

I agree with what he said, my first road bike was a K1 750, i was yet to turn 17 and it was fast, heavy and had #$%*ty brakes, the stainless discs were never a very good idea. I am sure if he had owned an early Kawasaki triple of GT Suzuki he would have said similar or worse things about their drum brake front ends....
