I believe the 550 lowers were from 75 and upper was from CBX1000.  I think you can use the CBX lowers too (aluminum) but the steering stops are different.

so you could just do a total CBX front end then? I've been considering doing a ZZR600 front end, its a slightly more modern shock but it's still the same style and not inverted. But they are 46mm. Got the measurements and the stem is the same length and width between the shocks is only 1/2 and inch wider.
