Sorry, no cute interweb postings or hilarious youtube videos here.
However, my wife, after long ignoring my obsession with bikes in general (except for the odd ride on the back of the Tiger) is suddenly showing an interest in my project CB750K. She's pretty intrigued by how it's shaping up, and the other day, made the comment that if I felt like doing "something like that" for her, she'd be actually interested in getting her license!
Well, THAT woke me up. I dug a little deeper, and what she really is interested in is something that looks "classic." We looked at a bunch of pictures and she likes the UJM look and some of more mildly modified cafes and flat trackers. She really like the TU250 but I was thinking I could probably put something together for her that was a little more "custom" in terms of color and still fairly reliable. We'll be doing our local motorcycle safety course again - well, first time for her, I'll ride along since the guy who runs the thing is a friend.
So I'm looking for something in the 200-400 cc range that can be had fairly cheaply and is fairly easy to work on. Obviously I've consider the smaller CBs but I'm not horribly familiar with the small Kawis and Yamahas. Any suggestions? I'll also accept bike porn of cool ideas for small bikes.
