petcock problems
« on: March 14, 2012, 04:33:03 PM »
I.ve got a 77 550k with pd46a carbs. I bought this a hacked mess apparently. The tank it came with has a 3/4 inch dual outlet petcock. Couldn't get the fuel line to the carb as well as that random second outlet. turns out different year tank on it.

So being a newb I bought a petcock for my bike. Not realizing its a 5/8 inch bung. Now I've got two seemingly un usable petcocks and    freshly painted tank.....what do I do

Ebay the old and buy the correct one.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Well you know what size you need.

Right....I need the larger size petcock. Which I have. I also need it to point to the side to match up with my carbs.

I have currently two petcocks
1) right size threads. But wrong because it has 2 nipples. My carb only has one inlet. As well as the nipples point down, not allowing the fuel line to attach withoit kinking.

2) wrong size threads for tank, but right nipple for fuel line.

So what would be the right petcock.

Looking for some help here...

I'm not sure about the petcock, mine is single outlet. What about changing the fuel line?
