OK. So you want to be period correct so you need the links to the Honda parts fiche. I use this site because it's local and and has the organization for me:
http://www.hondaofcrofton.com/fiche_select.aspClick Honda/MOTORCYCLES
Expand years, choose model and pick you graphic
http://www.hondaofcrofton.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=123067&category=MOTORCYCLES&make=HONDA&year=1974&fveh=2941Copy your part number
In 1974 color, there was Sunrise Orange, Freedom Green, and BOSS MAROON
83700-323-020TD
With the part number copied, go to
http://www.babbittsonline.com/honda-partsSelect your manufacturer, skip model and paste your copied part number
click Quick Look up (on left)
click Select Model (on left)
HURRAY!! You have a reverse parts look up! It seems the BOSS MAROON was was very rare and limited to 1974.
This use to be much easier, but Honda changed the data source and all the Myspace graduates took over.
Back at the fiche, picking another graphics, HANDLEBAR @ CABLE, the left switch is 35200-374-671
And at Babbits, you clear the window, page back, paste the part #, Quick look up,
Your turn signal switch is shared with the 1975 CB550 K1 and the 1973-75 CB 750K3, CB750K4 and CB750K5.
This is a rare switch, that has never, will never be reproduced, with 11 wires that allow the buzzer to be turned off by moving the button in between off and left or right. It was the holy grail to me.
This is period correct. And a forum member sold me the switch after two years search. You are in the right place, enjoy.
It's a beautiful, historical statement. It is extreme engineering that survives time and neglect.
Please don't cut that bike.
