+1 on the spigot mount. The set I'm running now is sigot mount.

Russ, how many is enough initially do you think . Also would you start-up the rods, cams, etc at the same time?

Were just chatting...re-starting a business is a way off if ever...probably just pipes...maybe. I'd want one if I was doing a vintage cafe racer.

I'd buy a set for my cb550 if you made one! I "made" my own set and it turned out looking and sounding great, but it's just not the same as something well engineered with performance in mind!! (I am a physicist and an engineer but there comes a time when the effort put into a design (making computer aided theoretical models using fluid dynamics) becomes way too much work! ..it's just not worth the effort when making only one set of pipes!! Hope you come out with something nice!

Those RC grinds are available new right now. There are a few choices for rods, many choices for pistons, cams etc etc. Those bases are well covered.

Fair enough MRieck.
So what's the next step Russ, do you think? I think there's interest here. Would you be open to someone here manufacturing the exhaust for you?

Yes I would...and they would have to be of the highest quality and true to the originals. I'm sure the technology exists that could make them "slightly better" than the original high volume pipes we produced. I can also envision a ceramic coated version. I have been in dialogue with my Dad on this and he would be my Quality Consultant on such a venture and have the final say on process and finish quality. The term "RC Signature Series" has been kicked around.

I may need a pipe.. original fixturing is looking improbable.

Yes.....good points. Stainless steel too. The name you came up with is good....it would help sell the product IMO.

Well, when that time comes, you can have my set - no problemo. They are kinda beat up but the fit at the head is perfect.

I could be interested in a new set for an early cb750.  Personally, having the RC badge is a must.  4 into 1 would be great, a nice 4 into 4 set would be killer.
