Sportster Tank??
« on: March 26, 2012, 03:49:39 PM »
Has anyone installed a sportster tank from tcbroschoppers on a cb750? Just wondering if the petcock location will work or if i would have to modify it at all. Thanks in the advance for the advice.

Yes, the petcock on the Sportster is on the right rear (early) and will just clear the frame rail.  Of course, the type and position of the mounting will determine exact placement.  I like the "King" Sportster tanks for the extra fuel for the not so thrifty CB750

I actually like the idea of the king sportster tank. So that tank will fit on the cb750 without modification?

Mounts are completely different.  Google "Honda Bobber" images.  It is a common look.

here is mine although it's a aftermarket frame this is a frisco style tank. the petcocks where moved to the back the filler tube was moved towards the front.and the tunnel was filled in.so you can get more fuel out of a tank of gas. these style of tanks where started by the hells angles back in the day.also the frames where modified (choppers) to so the fuel would automaticly go to the back of the tank. you might want to look into the the frisco style tanks they also come in the king sporty make sure you look at the ones with a shallow tunnel. mines inch so it sits on top of the frame.

@JamesB... thanks for sharing, it always good to see different styles. I want a new tank for the Cb i just bought and found one on tcbroschoppers.com called the sportster tank and its listed for the cb750. Like the style, just need to figure out what modifications are needed..if any.
