Thanks.last night I was sorting my wiring and switches and reg/rect,starter solenoid, etc.I have a real nice right hand control from a 78 but the harness  is a 72,I will have to rebuild the 72 switch. Can I use the later one?The wires are there,2 blacks,yel/red,bl/wh.??I'll make it work. This is a bastard of a bike anyway. One thing I am NOT doing is,cutting the wiring harness.

stripped the paint off the top triple and dash,I'll have the front forks on tonight.anyone know which wires I need to connect to start my bike,It is a mystery motor and I dont want to keep putting the bike back together until I'm sure the motors ok??I have to use a later control/start switch since my original is toast, pics of the 2 different switches and wires?

Here are some wiring diagrams. If you know how to read them it should not be to hard to figure out. I think the CB750 wiring is pretty similiar from year to year. I know some of the early models had a safety start switch or something. Hope these help.

UPDATE;So,The bottom end on my F motor isnt shifting through the gears, but the bottom end on my 72 motor is smooth, shifts, kicks etc.which I already have down to the short block,I will take the top end off the F motor,do the 836 kit I have laying around,do the Hondaman porting,HD studs,Valve springs, oil cooler.I knew it was too good to be true, but now I have an excuse to build a stronger motor.Time and money

Well I admit i'm a pessimist.I got the Fukker to fire up and run strong today!!!!Happy fathers day to me.The kids at his grandparents, wife's out shopping, just me and the garage.I sat and contemplated my dilemma,so i went over to my 73 and shifted the gear change as it sat there and I realized you can go down, neutral and up one.I was wrong all along on the trans on my project(I hope)so i Kicked it about 10 times without power, put power to the coils, gas, kicked it and it fired right up,almost easier than the bike I ride(??)It ran strong, idled fine, sounds mean.God i love Cb750's.Or Honda for that matter. Now,all I have to do is make the later on/off starter switch work with the 72 harness and I;m golden.:)All the rest is gravy.Needless to say,I'm Psyched!!!

so know I have the original 72 motor half apart,so I will slowly build an 836 and take my time while I have my stock 73 and my mongrel 72 with the F motor.

To me Ratbike is just someone that cannot even use a spray can properly.
Even if you have very little money you can make a great looking bike.

Just take your time.
