Lots of cleaning, wax and elbow grease and it looks pretty good from 5 to 10' away. I have a new set of Mac 4 into 2's and rear signal lights coming and a line on some grab bars.

Yes, but he's quite happy with his new 2012 Road King. I don't think he has any mechanical knowledge. He has an estimate of $1200 from a local shop to get it running. I'm waiting to see it.

Drink the red wine and just drive it and tinker on something else that needs your attention more.This one will be fun because you won't need to worry about being uber careful with it

It's growing on me Eric. This is the first "complete" bike (almost) I've worked on in years since doing my original K1. The new chrome exhaust system might push me over the edge into restoration heaven/hell. Fortunately parts seem plentiful and cheap compared to the SOHC4's. I put a wanted to buy notice on the CB1100F forum for grab rails and exhaust clamps and received a response very quickly. The pipes are coming with a complete set of signal lights for less than half the price of a new Mac system. The other parts are in good shape and reasonably priced - what a concept compared to K0 and K1 stuff.
One however however, the Benly is getting impatient for love too.

grcamna2, I reread my post and it was kind of confusing I think. The po had an estimate of $1200 to get the F running not the Road King. However he did drop a bunch of money on accesssories and new clothes while waiting for delivery of the RK. Cliff.

Fully Restored always looks Nice..to me

I take my time and ride it and restore my bike over time..as I'm riding & using it. Magpie,it seems you've got quite a good reputation for full resto's...

Pipes arrived today, nice shiny chrome ones. Now if only the clamps would arrive soon! Macs 4 to 2. Missed an Ebay auction for a good stock set at $250 plus shipping. Mac should sound nicer than stock I hope.
Have to pull the oil pan and see what's lurking there.

Some progress. Mac 4 to 2's on, starting to polish the case covers, found some grab bars. For a low budget one it's starting to come together nicely. My helper was there all the time too. Cliff.

When my supervisor crawls in my lap it means it's time to put the tools down and go in the house to bed. I haven't ridden this bike on the street yet, just in my driveway. If I enjoy it then it may get the full treatment later this year. I have to finish a K0 project first.

Tried my hand at some polishing, got separate buffing pads for the different grades of compund this time. Here's the left side, still have to do the clutch cover on the right side. Cliff.
