trouble with throttle valve on a cb550
« on: April 01, 2012, 07:40:02 AM »
Hello everyone. I have a 1974 CB550K that i am rebuilding the carbs on. For some reason I cannot get the throttle valve back in on one. The shaft seems too small and the throttle valve just gets stuck. Here is a picture of what im talking about. I had both the throttle valve and the carb bodies sitting in Berrymans for 2 days. Is there a possibility the carb body could have become misshapen? I compared the throttle valve to another one thats fits and they looked exactly the same so I don't think it is the problem.

You do have the slot lined up with the little tab in the carb body, right? Will this slide fit in any of the other carb bodies?

Yes it was lined up. The throttle valve fits in other carb bodies fine. I also tried other throttle valves to make sure that the carb body was the problem.
