CB 350 Twin exhaust options
« on: June 05, 2006, 05:26:40 PM »
My 72 CB350 twin will be complete in the next month or so, and I'm hunting down exhaust options.

so far the only thing I have found is the MAC. http://www.macperformance.com/store/product1.cfm?SID=3&Product_ID=490

I would prefer to stick with a 2 into 2 but I'm open to a cool 2 into 1 if anyone has any suggestions!

Thanks!
Angel

I'm running 2 into 2 on the red CB250 cafe racer with shorty reverse cone megaphones from JC Whitney....using the stock headers.

They have removable baffles, which make the bike run and sound great!! I pulled the baffles out and love it.

Heres the link to JC Whitney:

Later,
Greg

I almost bought a 2-1 off e-bay for my CB175, but it doesn't quite fit because it was made for a 350 twin.  It was listed for $39.99 by a guy in Montreal; e-bay #: 4644805556 (ended).

He sent me some dimensions:

"Hi Chris,
here are some details on , measurements and some photos,
expipe diameter 1and11/16" at head,
expipe centre to centre 6" at head,
length from inside of top pipe top top of lower pipe 11",
length from inside of down pipe to end of pipe 16",
collector pipe diameter 2",
muffler length 17.5",
muffler end diameter 3",
removeable baffle it is a street legal system,
rear mount on muffler has about 4" of adjustment,
if it was too loud for you remove baffle and wrap with a new piece of
silencer insulation,
it is nice and clean with no rust"

I've bought a couple of things off him, nice guy & all good deals.  Good shipping prices, even tossed in some extras here and there.  The exhaust was up at least twice and didn't sell, he probably still has it.  The dimensions came with some pictures, I can give you his e-mail if the listing is down by now.

Thanks for the info guys I'll definitely research those options, my head pipes are in decent shape but need re-chroming, but my mufflers are starting to rot.

but hey! I'm at $1500 and counting on this restoration so what's a few more $$$$$$$.

It's nice to have some other options, IMNSHO Mac stuff looks a little on the cheap and flimsy side.

Ohio: absolutely LOVE that bike!

Not to hijack a good thread, but I'd like more info on OHIO's rear sets! I'm building my first cafe racer out of a 70 CL350.

Looks like I'm going the JC Whitney muffler route, haven't found anything else that really excites me and we are getting down to the wire and I need an exhaust!
