I will take mine off tomorrow night when I get home and measure the head and the carbs.

I have an odd-ball set of carbs for a CB650. Doesn't fit my '81 CB650C . Maybe they are the ones that your looking for?             Doug

No, I have the correct carbs, I was mostly wondering if I had the wrong carb boots.  Seems like I have all the correct parts, but as soon as I get home tomorrow I will take the carbs off and measure the head and carbs again.

Give us a picture of the top of the rocker covers.  That will indicate the year of the head.
1979 was told engine mightve been swapped, can you tell me if this is the 79 head and carb? I too am having the same problem with the isolators not fitting...

after measuring distance of the ports im GUESSING this is an 82 head with a 79 carb... somehow if you do muscle hard enough you can make it fit like the previous owner did, but if you take the isolators off and let it sit like I did, they straighten out and get hard and turn impossible to put back on..

It would be nice to see someone  post what matches what for top ends in FAQ's, especially mixing years of 650 with 500 and 550 top ends.

It would take someone whose been around them all for sure.

Probably would, I stopped working at Honda dealers in 1980, there wasn't any swapping being done then
