1.Flake Sunrise Orange

2.Freedom Green Metallic

3.Boss Maroon Metallic

i want to have a partial resto(that i plan on selling) what color do you thibnk will sell best?
this is for the 74 in my sig line

i will add that i dont think ive ever seen the maroon.. on this site or in person... but i really dig the orange

i seem to see more orange than the green or maroon. I like the maroon best.

1974 is the first year for Boss Maroon Metallic, IIRC. I think a well done Maroon bike is tough to beat, but it is true that the orange is the most striking. Love that color.

I just had to have a sunflake orange, hence, my K4. My second choice would be the green. Not and never was a fan of the maroon which honestly looks purple to me. I had a OEM maroon tank which came on a parts bike. It really looks purple. And when that sun hits the orange watch out, it turns heads.

The orange would probably sell the best as it seems to be the most common and popular.

Freedom green is a nice runner-up if you can find a paint source. The closest factory color match I’ve seen (so far) is the Honda/Acura automotive “clover green” paint code: G95P, but I haven’t personally tried it. If you want to go outside of the box, the Japanese home market K4 was silver with candy blue tank stripes.

Go for the Orange, you will Love it! I'm very partial to it myself, especially when the sunshine "Lights" it up

Go for the green! I have a K4 with original Boss Maroon and it's kind of blah. Some say it's kind ofpurple, but I don't see it, but I am color blind.

The above mentioned "Clover Green Pearl" can be had in a spray can from Duplicolor; I think it's part of their "Perfect Match" series. Same code: G95P, for 1999 - 2004 Hondas.

And, BTW, thanks! You just helped me make up my mind re: the color of my own bike! Nice to have the comparison shots.

Check out zzpete's valley green metallic. I really like this color, but I do not think it was offered in your era. It does sort of look like that freedom green. Dang that looks good with the gold stripe.

So is vintage honda paint the best deal?.... I wasnt planning on dropping 300 on paint (engine and frame included) in just paint
I'm going with orange...but my next build its gonna be that silver with candy blue...I'm keeping that one

Realize that the 3 schemes you provided were 750 paint schemes andnot the 550 scheme? The tank has a noticeably larger black pattern on the 550...changes the impression of the color a little i think.
but there is nothing to stop you from not applying any stripes or other color to the base color. The 550f didnt have the k's black panel in the scheme. The sunrise flake looks great either way as it is eye poppingly attractive in bright sunshine with adistinct color shift.
