I am still wary of messing with the brakes and wheels but here is an image of the master cylinder and cap. This is my first day off in a long time so just getting my bearings again. I need to hold off on setting the timing because the bike is in the back yard which in NYC is surrounded by many buildings. I feel a bit rude running the bike more than once a week for a minute or two. I want to get it registered then onto the street where I can run it as long as I need to. I'm wondering if I should put new tires on it before that or just get it taken somewhere and have it done.
Sorry thinking out loud...

Well at least the brake fluid looks mostly fluid. If it were me I'd strip the brake system down,, for safety and etc.

It looks more like a gel than fluid, and there is not much in there. Too damn hot to do anything except wait on line at the DMV today...

No matter what it looks like it needs
replaced
and the whole braking system
overhauled

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.
