CB750 speedo drive question
« on: April 14, 2012, 06:31:01 PM »
I have a 1975 CB750, recent "barn find" with only 1400 original miles on it.  It was in storage for at least 10 years, so I felt the need to replace the original tires.  Easy to get the wheels off and back on.  But when I put the front wheel on, the speedo drive wants to turn with the front wheel.  I did NOTHING to the bearings, just had the tire replaced.  I drove it a bit today and the right front wheel, in the area of the speedo drive, got very hot.  Something is clearly not right.  Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Do you have the axle installed in the correct direction?

You might download the parts list.

It has exploded diagrams that show proper assembly.

You can also get the full Honda shop manual here.
