1972 CB750 Portugal
« on: April 24, 2012, 08:25:58 AM »
Hello from Lisbon,

I am a visitor for a while and a recent CB750 Four owner (only had recent Honda) after many months of search. There are not that much in Portugal and they are too expensive. I finally found this one stopped since 2001 in this same spot. At home, with only a new battery everything worked, but it won’t run because the carburetors started squeezing gasoline… The brakes are blocked too. This CB has a second disk and it looks like to be similar to the original one (these two are the same), can anybody confirm that please, because I have to order the rings and maybe the pistons too (after taking them of :-[). Thank you and wish you all the best rides…

Howdy! Welcome! :)
Your bike looks fairly complete.

The front calipers should be identical so the same parts will work for both.

Hey welcome! Lisbon is a great city with great food! Nice bike and really nice original paint. Lucky you to have dual brakes. Yes they are original and both the same. I'd get new pistons and seals and flush out old brake fluid. You might as well upgrade to stainless brake lines while you are at it. David Silver Spares in the uk has all that you need.

Good luck!
Andy

Welcome and nice colour. You may want to check all that wiring coming out of the exhaust.   :P
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Yes there are few Things missing, but a lot need repair.

Tks. I saw one topic saying that the dual discs for the 750 usually came from the gl1000, and i thought that could include the lower suspension, that is more €€€ spent ::). I'll fix the brakes, carbs, trans., and try to have it running for the summer.

For me That's only one more CB mysterious part  ;D
