I think my missus is trying to kill me
« on: May 10, 2012, 04:25:10 AM »
Ok it is done, the missus and I booked our tickets to England later this year, now I'm sure she is trying to kill me because she booked the trip for the end of November, early December, I have lived in the sub-tropics all my life, I haven't even seen snow.  She wants me to go back and meet her family, and I was doing so well, we have been together for a year and I have only ever met her mother, and that is only because she lives here in Australia now.  But other than her trying to bump me off by putting me in the fridge for three and a half weeks, I'm actually looking forward to the trip, it will be my first trip overseas. ;D

Gloomy.   :) Like all the movies you mean?
I'm quite a bit North of most of England.  We have our good days.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Well, winter is winter after all. Autumn and Spring is nice. British Summer Time is a bummer.  They shift the time back an hour in Autumn and forward again in Spring. I wish they would do away with it.

Here winter is nice as long as you can get through the cold mornings and nights, we average 4-5 C through the middle of winter and get a week or so where the temps plumit to 1-2 C overnight (AND YES THAT IS BLOODY COLD), and we usually average 20-22 C during the day, and again there is about a week in the middle where the temps don't climb much above 16 C.  The coldest daytime temp I can remember was last year we had one day where it didn't crack 12 C,  I felt like I was dying, damn it was cold.  Winter around here is riding season, because almost everyday is blue skies and it isn't really that cold, summer here sucks, but not as much as further north, we average 34 C during the day and about 25 C at night then in the middle of summer we get a few weeks where it is 36-37 C, this heat comes hand in hand with humidity in the range of 90+%, oh and lets not forget the rain.  So yeah basically I'm going to be that rugged up that I look like the Michelin man when I get there I think.

Yes, take all precautions. It's the start of Summer here and we are looking at a high of 12c tomorrow.  :-\
