I am hoping to make it up to Gilmore on Sunday the 10th of June. Anybody else interested in attending?

Saturday I am hoping to head up to Road America for the classic bike show up there. It's so annoying that they are always the same weekend.

The ride on Saturday sounds great, just would need a room to stay Saturday night. Weather forcast would have to sound healthy without rain forcast. I would be leaving from Waterford area if anyone else would like to ride together, for either Sat. or Sun., or both, weather permitting. Looks like a route on Grand River Ave. would be interesting, not really into riding on I96 without a windshield, and driving a 1975 550K.

Side covers for a '77-'78? Wouldn't mind having a second trap-door gas tank too. A well-behaved regulator maybe!

Any 750 K4-K6 parts? Say a tank, chain guard, seat, inner sprocket cover (the horse shoe looking one)?

Thanks. Kinda didn't know how it would do given the great entries.

My personal favorite was the 52' Cushman with the 1 of 2 Cushman commissioned side cars. Not a 750, but it had plenty of character. Unfortunately; he couldn't get his engine fired for the judges (required). Otherwise he would had placed or won. Had a great time. My grandson (Ty, 7yrs old) was taken back with all the bikes. Took him home afterwards. All he could talk about was the miniature Kawaski cafe/ninja bike and the "sea" of bikes in the parking lot. I'm sure he'll remember the experience forever.

Had a great time. Met members from various forums. I wish I had more time to look around... next year!

It's remarkable how much the show has grown since the first one I attended in 2007. The number of bikes in the show is about the same, but the number of attendees is so much greater, I would bet 3 or 4x what I recall from 5 years ago. It was great to finally be able to ride a bike there.

Here's a few from the Saturday Vintage Ride. They didn't expect the number of bikes that came out (mentioned it was over double of last years).

One of these years I will come up early for this ride. But first I need to make it up to the show at Road America in Wisconsin, which is always the same weekend as the Gilmore show.

It's amazing that you road that bike. Looking at it Sunday I wouldn't have thought it had ever seen a single mile on the street.

Good observation. I rode the 77' GoldWing on Saturday and showed the 750 on Sunday. The 750 doesn't get on the road much. Its got about 52 miles on the restoration. Having too much fun showing and enjoying the GW as my daily driver (averaging 44+mpg).

Was that your blue GL in the for sale paddock?

I bought my '77 GL1000 last August, it did start and run, but the guy I bought it from had recently bought it from someone else and it had been sitting for a few years. I redid the carbs with the Randakk kit but I just can't seem to get everything adjusted right. It runs well on the highway, but it just won't idle right. It's really driving me nuts.

I rode it up Sunday and averaged 32-33

It wasn't my bike for sale. I have a black 1977 GL1000. Bought it back in April and spent about 6+weeks getting road worthy. I too had to rebuild the carburetors, and used the Randakk kit. Did you opt for the video when you purchased the kit? There's some helpful tips to guide you along the cleaning, inspection & assembly.

Thanks. As I was looking over the parking area when I was there I kind of felt like I was at a HOG event. I would bet 70% of the bikes in the lots were HD.
