Hi Guys!  I guess I am the luckiest man alive.  I hadn't fired up my '77 F model since 1995 and tried to start it back in November.  It turned but would not fire.  I made a list of parts which grew and grew.  I dunked the carbs and worked over the electrical.  The forks were refreshed and the brakes rebuilt.  Today I pushed it out of the basement and far enough from the house so the flames would not spread.  Put in some fresh gas and a new battery and it turned over but would not fire.  Pulled the #1 plug and set it on the exhaust.  A puny spark from a 25 year old plug.  Put the plug back in and pulled the choke all the way out.  I forgot what a cold beast she was.  It popped!  Then it fired and kept running.  After a few seconds of throttle and choke, she was once again my old sweetheart.  I made a few adjustments and ran it up and down the driveway.  Put 'bout half a mile on it.  It was so great, just like I remember it.  
I want to thank all of those who took time to answer my questions and all those who were interested enough to read my posts while they passed through.  I couldn't have done it without you guys.  I'll be asking questions about tires and tuning in the next few weeks.

Congrats! Ain't that a great feeling? Did the same with Dad's old Mustang a couple of months ago. Then we pulled the engine out!  So we get to experience that again (hopefully) soon. Have fun!

I have other things to do but I sneak out to the barn and start her up.  It is so sweet.  I  turn on the gas petcock... pull out the choke... and quickly tap the start button... and there is this wonderful music.  my old license plate has a '95' sticker on it so I don't have any road time yet, but soon, very soon.
