Honing cylinders

Is it possible to make the cylinders between .005 and .010 larger just by honing.
I want to avoid boring costs.
Just wondering.

That's probably too far to go with a hone IMO. Also you lose control of the taper in the cylinder, there shouldn't be any.

Right.  I was thinking 0.010 inch was too much.
But I have never honed before so I appreciate the input.
