ok this is where im at.......
did the tappet like the manual says
cam chain is tensions from how the manual says
no exhaust leak but is my exhaust to open? do these motors need a substantial amount of back pressure?
i used 0.014 to set my points gap ( im going to take some 2000 grit sand paper and clean up the points)
i did the timing with a home made timing light. i disconnected the blue wire. then connected one lead to the blue wire and the other onto the motor. moved the motor over to F (1:4) and then the light turned on. then changed over to the yellow wire and then cranked it over and the light turned off (or was it on i cant remember...) at F (2:3). (this is just off the top of my head) so i think the timing is good.
syncing the carbs that is where im at in the video also. im not sure if you supposed to go by the markings on the gauges or ur just supposed to use them to get all the carbs at the same vacuum.
idk what else im missing or is my bike good? also how smooth do these bike sound? ive never been around a cherry cb550 so i dont know what the motor is supposed to sound like when its just idling low
i also have the idle screw as low as it will go without the motor cutting out. my tach is not on the bike right now and from what i understand ur supposed to sync the carbs at a low rpm
i will post another video in the morning the lighting was more horrible then a thought.
cb550 problems?cylinder 3 needs a little bit more tuning
