Topic: Stock rear suspension

Hey guys and gals! I am looking to lower the rear end of my 750K4. I currently have stock suspension on the rear and when I plant my arse on the seat I am still on my toes at traffic lights. I have and aftermarket dual seat and sissy bar on the back. With my and the ol' lady on the bike we are pressing the shocks to the limit with the shocks tuned to the half way notch. I have looked at the shorty shocks but I am not sure if they are going to give me what I need. Ultimately, I want to be able to have a little bend in my knees and get flat footed at the intersections.

You have a dilemna. I don't think you can even get a decent compromise. Shorty shocks are usually cheapie shocks and the springs will not be any more up to your load than OEM. To get tougher springs you will go aftermarket shocks which will be at least as long and maybe longer than OEM.

Soul thickeners? Leave the wife at home?

Hate to say it but your problem is what cruisers are built for. Low seat height along with proper spring rates and travel.

I see a good used Suzuki Marauder in your future.

I see a lot of guys saying that they can't put both feet on the ground at a stop. I am 5'9" and when i stop at a light or what ever i only ever have my left foot on the ground, my right foot is always on the rear brake pedal when i am stopped, this allows you to reach the ground easily on the left side, i very rarely have both feet on the ground at a stop....

It sucks, but that's the way most bikes are made.   It seems the 32" inseam is the average most manufacturers strive for.   I think they're in cahoots with Levi's
