72 CB750 Resto-Touring steed

First time post, longtime lurker... I picked this bike up from a family friend & it's in need of some beautification as I'm not sure what theme the previous owner was going for. My goal is to return it to stock & add a few touches to make it into something my wife & I can enjoy riding backroads together with. Currently the motor appears locked up. Hopefully someone here can help decipher what is going on. I pulled the plugs & sprayed Kroil & PB Blaster down. Then the next day I pulled the bike out & in the top gear it will not roll forward, but if you push it backwards it will move with enough force & sounds like the motor is turning over. Would this possibly be a clutch issue instead? Is there a way to take the clutch out of the equation to make sure the motor is free & if the clutch is frozen up is there a way to loosen it up?

Anybody have a use for this tank? Would be interested in trading for other 750/550 parts or make an offer.

Finally got the motor free. Leaving it in top gear & pushing backwards was how it finally broke free. Now it kicks over pretty easily...

I appreciate the offer, I'll let you know as things progress. I bought a really clean set of carbs at Mid-Ohio VMD last year.  The story I got on this bike was the previous owner took the carbs off to be cleaned & never got them back. I picked it up as is with the engine locked up & missing carbs.

Breaking the engine loose must have broken something else loose as well. A puddle of oil was underneath her when I checked on her today. To be expected on a 40 year old bike.

it kicks over pretty easily now. One spot is a little difficult, but it could just be where the compression is building. Either way I'm not too worried at this point, just glad to get it free. Next step is the carbs & fuel tank.
