You need to rethink not putting on a Gordon Kit. It will be under the tank so it wont be seen, you WILL wish you had. Very functional

+1 on the frame kit. I just put mine in this last week. It was not difficult and was more of an experiment since, if it worked as well as claimed, I was going to use it in all of my vintage bike builds...or some version of it.

I left the engine in the frame while I worked on it. After I put it in I timed myself on the removal of my engine (carbs and all ancillary equipment removed). From start to finish...removing the engine took me less than 5 minutes. Because I'm SUPER anal I put the engine back in...<4 minutes. Then I wiped the bottom of the engine down with baby powder and removed the engine again. Once again less than 5 minutes but this time I had proof that the engine did not touch the frame anywhere. This was all done with a floor jack under the engine and a motorcycle lift next to it.

i also pulled the head off the engine with it in the frame. Just take a moment to imagine how much nicer it would be to work on your engine if you didn't have to worry about messing up a beautifully coated frame by banging your engine against it when, undoubtedly in the future you want to hot rod that motor...

Long story short...i'm designing a similar kit for a Kaw H2 Triple, a GL1000(more for carb removal), a KZ1100, and a KZ1000.
You CAN do great things...with enough beer.

the frame kit is a nice add-on. money isnt the issue. just weather i actually want it. Keeping the frame straight and true is always an issue. for the section of the frame i had to replace from a donor bike i jigged it with 1/4in steel before i cut it, and removed after new piece was in place. i cant really do that with this kit.

im sure if i dont use it, and after this fresh rebuilt motor is broken in. as i know these motors are known to need a re-torque on the head bolts. ill have wished i added the frame kit.

can i remove the valve cover with the motor in without this kit?

but otherwise, i have a spare engine to build if i decide down the road to build it.

You don't need to...

Can't work on the top end in the frame without the kit at all....  Don't worry mate, i am as fussy as hell with my bikes and would never do anything that would hurt the integrity of the frame, actually quite the opposite, i always brace these frames and am now adding frame kits to all 3 of my projects, i wouldn't even think about it if i thought it was a problem... Mine are all big Horse power projects....

You'll need the spacers on that axle in the auction you linked, plus you'll need a rear caliper holder-

If you're running an early engine (pre-77) you will need to do some work to fix the chainline- late model 750's have more offset in the final drive.  There's a couple options to fix it, if you haven't already.
