just the jets that came with the carbs, and honestly the exhaust came with the bike ive never really looked into it. hmm guess i should check that to see if i can replace the baffles

So I've torn into the wiring harness checked every wire to make sure they are good. I need help here, I notice there are 3 wires for brown from the ignition to the tail light but I don't know the 3rd

Also no where on the print does it show a brown with blue wire coming from the clutch side control, but there is a component with a button with a brown with blue wire and a grey wire.

next i went with a new color its much darker then the picture.

What's that switch off mate? It's not a standard CB750 item, but it looks like a Honda switch from the era, maybe off a different 1970's model. Cheers, Terry.

Your guess is as good as mine, I got this thing in a farmers field 3 years ago. I'm trying to work with what I've got but with all the wiring by the book I get a tail light and neutral light everything else is a no go.

Yeah, I feel for you mate, I'm about to "right the wrongs" of a PO's electronic butchery on a CB750 I'm doing for a friend. The PO completely rewired it, made his own harness, basically just bastardised the whole thing. I got the current owner to buy a new harness from that shop I posted a link to previously, but I still have to change out the switchblocks for correct CB750 items, replace the short harness from the alternator, replace the wiring from the headlight, tail light, gauge lights, idiot lights, brake lights, etc etc. I really don't want to do it, but he's a good bloke, and I want his bike to be reliable. Ya, it's getting kinda rediculous. I have a few suspicions that the components up front are the issue.

ok also i seem to have a shopping list of tutorials and parts now...

-cotter pins for the carbs i need a size or substitute
-gear ratio for the speedometer
-how to rebuild the brake side handle bar switch
-and what brown is wired to besides the tail light and ignition switch

Rebuilt the starter switch, the plastic portion of the headlight switch was broken so I had to Kerry rig it by drilling into it a putting in a small screw to replace the plastic guide pin the switch uses and re installed the contact point for the electric start button hopefully this solves a problem or two..

A the budget thing is more work with what I've got kinda thing. Why spend money when I can make or fix something. I'm 22 I don't wanna be part of that "throw away" generation.

I have to order a master cylinder rebuild kit, and make a few mounting plates for new components like the speedometer and the rectifier replacing the ok components. I didn't want to cut up the triple tree because I don't want to destroy any original parts. Oh and when me and the girlfriend were removing the paint on the side covers we saw a rainbow of colors blue,green,orange,sparkly blue,red and black twice. Apparently the previous owner felt the color needed to change every year.

Oh wow those do look the same ill have to check! Also I have some progress updates put a smaller tail light and will be making a license plate mount based off the existing holes, also made an aluminum plate for all the wiring to mount to. I'll probably go with a brushed aluminum look. Also cleaned up the wiring harness.

Finished up some wiring, being redone from the ground up. Need to build some mounts for the new tail light, and license plate and plate light

Ok some more work and changes have been done bobbed the rear fender a few inches.

Rebuilt the master cylinder a bled the brakes. I'm using a front caliper from an 80's dohc.

I was asked earlier about the pipes and they are drag piped but no make or marks I can see

Some components with a new mounting plate made of aluminum. Will probably get a good polish later on time

Next big thing is to design a chain guard probably from stainless then polished.

Mocked up and almost done. White paint the rims white. Stainless steel chain guard drilled out. Looks like on need the headlight fairing and some type of detail or artwork.

You are doing a great job!!!

You saved that bike from being scrapped out.
Those carbs are like gold as far as I am concerned.
Very easy to work on .
Every adjustment easy to reach. Fully adjustable.
Flip up/down choke.
No lifter arms ,bearings,shafts, etc.,.

Yeah now if only I could find the cotter pins for them! Thank you by the way, that means a lot to me hearing i did a good job on something especially a project like the for a 22 year old is one of the bigger things I've done in life so far.

Old thread, I know, but I was hoping to figure out the manufacturer on the 4 into 1 cage type air filter, I have seen them on another 750 build... they look cool for what that is worth.

There's actually two air filters there mate, they used to be a pretty common accessory for CB750's, you'll probably find a pair on ebay, but iff the rubbers have gone hard, you'll have a bugger of a time getting them on your carbs. Also, the foam filter media will probably crumble into dust, so you'll need to replace them too. Cheers, Terry.
