Fuel Tap To Fit Bartels CR Tank
« on: June 05, 2012, 08:30:56 AM »
What fuel tap(s) is commonly used with the Bartels aluminum CR tank? I know there were recommendations to use a Honda CRF tap (anyone got the Honda part#?) but are there any others that can easily replace it or are better? And in street use has anyone done a comparison to see which inline fuel filters flow the best with gravity feed?

Is there a Pingel bolt-on that works?

I use a Pingle Dual-Race 3/8 npt fuel valve ( with adaptor plate (#A1602C) on my Bartel CR tank.

Thanks Martin and Jim. Do either of you use any kind of O ring between the tank, the adapter and the tap?

The pingle adaptor came with a little tube of goo and a gasket.  I did use a little teflon tape on the tap thread.

Apparently it needs a Honda CR500 fuel tap that slots staright on but they differ over the years so it's possible to get the worng CR500 tap. Not sure which year is the right one I'm sorry - I ended up getting mine custom made...

Does Pingle have adapters so we can use their fuel taps on stock tanks.?

Yeah it looks like the piece on the right hand side.. it may have an O-ring oval in it..
easy piece to make without the groove..
